It was always a dream of mine to set this up. Years of collecting and lugging around equipment with the goal of creating a boutique space with microphones, outboard gear and a recording medium I don’t normally use in my career as an original dialogue mixer for animated films. My start as a professional came after digital took over so this studio is, in part, a throwback to how it was done before my time and an opportunity to get some instruments behind these microphones of mine for a change.

Enter The Wellesley Den, a cozy nook I’ve kept to myself for a bit but am now ready to open to musicians I feel a connection to.  A place to feel comfortable and inspired to perform without reservation.  A place where we prioritize patience and emotion over speed and quantization.  A place where any idea is worth exploring.

So despite being located in a garage, smaller than the pictures suggest and acoustically treated but not particularly sound proof, The Den is capable of producing professional analog or digital recordings by way of a diverse microphone and outboard selection, an environment you’ll feel comfortable in and an engineer that’s willing to take the time to get it right. Let’s have some fun and make something we’re proud of together.  - Tighe
